Complications of Chronic Renal Failure

Chronic Renal Failure is the slow loss of kidney function over time. For most

people kidney failure occurs after years of having chronic kidney disease. Chronic Renal Failure may cause various complications, which mainly lie in the following aspects:
(1)Symptoms of Nervous System
Symptoms of nervous system are the main symptoms of Uremia. During the early stage of Uremia, the symptoms may include dizziness, headache, weakness and decline of both comprehension and memory. As the disease progresses, there may appear some symptoms such as Dysphorien, muscle twitching and convulsions. (2)Gastrointestinal Symptoms

(3) Symptoms of Cardiovascular System
There may appear heart failure, arrhythmia, myocardial damage etc, due to Renal Hypertension, acidosis, hyperkalemia, retention of sodium and water, anemia and toxic substances and so on. Aseptic pericarditis and pain on precordial region may happen to the patients with Chronic Renal Failure due to the stimulation of urea or uric acid.

Sugar tolerance of patients declines. Negative nitrogen balance can lead to emaciation of the patients, cachexia and low albuminemia. Low albuminemia is one of the main reasons causing edema to kidneys.
